We offer workshops, camps, and teacher training intensives for BUDY Flow, along with interesting content about Body, Unity Dance, and Yoga.

We aim to promote an understanding of the inherent simplicity of dance and movement. Our goal is to spread the art of Yoga Dance Fusion and the joy of movement, creating a more peaceful world from the inside out.

“In our culture, we are often raised to think and act in a complicated manner, overlooking the simplicity and obviousness that can lead us to more effective solutions - a principle that is also relevant in dance. The BUDY Flow Training reverses this principle by teaching us to deeply listen to our bodies, move intuitively, and remain highly focused, in harmony with the elements of earth, water, fire, air, and ether. This process liberates us from excessive thinking and allows for more precise and authentic expression in our movements. It leads to a deeper connection with ourselves and a more liberated expression with finely defined movement quality. Exploring and training in dance doesn't have to be complicated; it can also be light, easy, and obvious.

Why do I share this with you? Dance and yoga create inner peace and bliss. When you share these practices with others, you contribute to creating a more peaceful environment. Makes sense, right?"

Brigitte Breternitz

Founder BUDY Academy, Creator of BUDY Flow

Her love for yoga began as a dancer, driven by a desire to maintain flexibility, strengthen her body, and achieve balance in her daily life as a choreographer. What she discovered along the way was transformational, and today, yoga is the cornerstone of her existence - a daily practice that helps her achieve a peaceful inner state. For Brigitte, yoga is not only a way to move and breathe, but a way of life. Through the practice, she found newfound strength in her profession as a dancer, choreographer, and dance teacher, learning to trust the flow and embrace new opportunities.

At the young age of 16, Brigitte began teaching dance classes, and her passion for the art form never waned. As a professional dancer, choreographer, and founder of a modern dance studio and successful artist agency in Cologne, she was a prominent figure in the industry. However, the pressure of her job and the challenges of being a single mother prompted her to take a closer look at her life. This led her to the fusion of yoga and dance, which became her greatest source of inspiration and joy.

Since incorporating yoga into her daily routine in 2007, Brigitte has explored various styles and techniques, but it was the BUDY Flow practice that truly resonated with her. Combining elements of both yoga and dance, this practice helped her find a perfect balance between mind and body. It wasn't long before Brigitte began sharing her newfound passion with others, becoming a teacher and coach for BUDY Flow.

In 2021, Brigitte received funding support from the Ministry for Art and Culture of Thuringia/Germany to research the effects of the BUDY Flow practice. What she discovered during her six-month study was nothing short of remarkable. Participants reported experiencing profound physical, emotional, and energetic benefits, further solidifying Brigitte's conviction that this practice should be shared with the world.

Education:

Brigitte has been dancing since her early childhood and has been following this passion naturally by just following her heart. At the age of 14, she became a member of a well-known dance company in her hometown. Later, alongside her dance training, she started to study Pedagogy at the University of Erfurt. When she became pregnant at the age of 19 and gave birth at 20, agains all odds she put even more focus towards dance. She received a scholarship for a contemporary dance educational program at the Schule für zeitgenössischen Tanz Immo Birgit Buhl, which she successfully completed. After that profound experience she moved to Cologne with her son to study at the Sporthochschule Köln since it was the only sports education that also provided dance and acting classes. She as well attended many workshops in and out of the country. Her training in Brazil had a huge impact on her. She started traveling the world to learn about different dance cultures, including Brazil, the US, Italy, the Netherlands, France, India, and more. According to her, her education for dance will never be finished, and her curiosity for the artform of dance and performance is a never-ending process.

Brigitte's yoga journey began in 2015, when she completed her first 200-hour Teacher Training Course (TTC) at Yogaloft Cologne under the guidance of Sonya Taylor Bach. She went on to complete a 300-hour TTC with Acharya Yogesh (Oceanic Yoga) and a 50-hour TTC with Vira Drotbohm.

Today, Brigitte teaches mainly her signature Contemporary Yoga Dance Fusion - BUDY Flow.
