What is BUDY FLOW?

BUDY Flow is a movement practice that empowers your potential to move freely and fully with your body.

BUDY Flow is a holistic dance and movement technique, a contemporary dance meditation developed by Brigitte Breternitz. It helps the practitioner to be closer to their individual truth, to be more balanced, stronger, authentic, healthier and happier. BUDY Flow works both mentally and physically, whether in dance, on the yoga mat or in the chaos of everyday life. The core of the technique is the individuality of the person and the full acceptance of what is. Influences from yoga philosophy, various dance techniques, meditations and breathing exercises flow into the practice.

A BUDY Flow class is a fusion of guided improvisation and yoga dance sequencing. Approaches from Western and Eastern anatomy are used and applied. The goal of the training is to refine one's own movement quality and to express creativity, individuality and the presence of the moment.

With a focus on mindfulness of one's physical, energetic, mental and emotional body and all movements of the mind, this training represents a healthy and sustainable enriching way to discover and transform the body as an instrument and to penetrate the deep layers of being to release and heal blockages. Physical limits are always respected to use the body as an instrument for artistic expression and healing movement for as long as possible.

Through the techniques used here, both movement creativity and movement quality are improved and can be applied in any artistic style. Strength lies not only in muscular strength but also in mental ability, especially if one wants to master the artist's life on stage or in front of the camera. For this, the yoga philosophy according to Patanjali and Eastern anatomy are helpful, which is a firm part of the BUDY Flow practice.

BUDY Flow is a movement that reaches beyond physical and mental limits - it is a logical consequence of our time and appeals to anyone who wants to use the body as an instrument for self-realization.

What are the prerequisites for practicing BUDY Flow?

BUDY Flow does not require any experience in dance or yoga. It is applicable to absolutely any body, with or without dance/yoga experience. Openness and curiosity about the hidden potentials of the body are helpful for the practice. The willingness to open oneself to all layers of being, including mental and emotional aspects, is helpful in enjoying the depth of the practice and utilizing its effects. If there are serious emotional traumas from the past, it is advisable to attend therapy (classical or alternative psychology) in addition to the BUDY Flow practice.

If there are physical limitations, it is advisable to use additional or physiotherapeutic consultation and/or treatment in addition to the BUDY Flow practice.
